About Turkish Super Lig
The Turkish Süper Lig (known as the Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship) is the top tier of professional association football in Turkey. Contested by 19 teams, the league is famous for its fierce, high-tension Istanbul derbies and hostile, deafening stadium atmospheres. Running from August through May, the campaign determines the national champions and sends the country's elite clubs to compete on the grand European stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Domestic dominance is historically a war of attrition between Istanbul's "Big Three"—Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş. Galatasaray enter the campaign as defending champions after securing their 26th league title in May 2026, closely pursued by runners-up Fenerbahçe. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor remain a primary threat, fresh off winning the 2025/26 Ziraat Turkish Cup title.
Format
The 19 clubs compete in a 36-match double round-robin schedule. The league champions qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stages, while the runners-up and cup winners earn spots in the UEFA Europa League and Conference League. At the bottom of the standings, the bottom four teams are automatically relegated to the TFF First League.
