About Thai Premier League

Thai League 1 (known officially as Hilux Revo Thai League for sponsorship) is the top tier of the professional association football league system in Thailand. Contested by 16 clubs, the league is the highest-ranked and most competitive domestic football competition in Southeast Asia. Running from August through May, the league delivers high-scoring matches and passionate local rivalries, determining the country's national champions and coveted berths in the AFC Champions League Elite.

Top teams

The league is dominated by powerhouses Buriram United, who defended their crown to secure their 12th league championship and completed a domestic double by claiming the Chang FA Cup in May 2026. Perennial heavyweights Port FC, Ratchaburi FC, BG Pathum United, and True Bangkok United remain constant threats, making the race for AFC Champions League spots a fierce battle.

Format

The 16 teams play a grueling double round-robin format consisting of 30 matches. The bottom three teams at the end of the campaign are automatically relegated to Thai League 2. The champions qualify for the AFC Champions League Elite group stage, while the runners-up and the FA Cup winners earn spots in the AFC Champions League Two, ensuring high-stakes drama until the final matchday.

Viewership

Thai football draws passionate crowds, packing modern arenas like Buriram's Chang Arena and Port FC's PAT Stadium. Digital engagement is massive across Southeast Asia, with millions of fans streaming live games, driving record-breaking viewing figures on digital platforms and regional television networks.

Streaming options in Thailand

In Thailand, football fans can stream every single match live via the official digital platform, AIS PLAY, and the MONOMAX streaming platform. In addition, selected marquee matchups are broadcast free-to-air on the MONO29 television channel under the current multi-year rights agreement.

Streaming options in the US

For fans in the United States, matches can be streamed live via the official AIS PLAY and MONOMAX services. Because these platforms are geoblocked to the domestic market, American viewers must use a reliable Virtual Private Network (VPN) set to a Thai server to access the live broadcasts legally.

Streaming options in Canada

Canadian viewers can follow the entire season live and on-demand via the AIS PLAY or MONOMAX digital platforms. A VPN connection set to a Thailand server is required for Canadian users to bypass geo-restrictions and watch the match feeds.

International streaming options

Outside of Thailand, there is no dedicated international broadcaster for the league. Fans can access live coverage via the official AIS PLAY app or MONOMAX portal by using a VPN service configured to a Thai IP address to stream the matches.

Current season

The 2026/27 Thai League 1 campaign kicks off in August 2026 and concludes in May 2027, running a 30-game schedule to determine the national champions. Buriram United enter the season as defending champions, with matches broadcast across AIS PLAY, MONOMAX, and MONO29.
