About ATP

The ATP Tour is the top tier of men's professional tennis. It runs year-round across 29 countries, featuring 63 tournaments including the four Grand Slams, nine ATP Masters 1000 events, 16 ATP 500 events, and 29 ATP 250 events. The season wraps up with the Nitto ATP Finals in Italy each November. The tour is in full swing, with the clay court season just around the corner.

Top players

Carlos Alcaraz is the current world No. 1. The 22-year-old Spaniard just completed the career Grand Slam by winning the Australian Open in January, beating Novak Djokovic in a five-set final. Jannik Sinner is right behind him at No. 2 — the Italian won Indian Wells in March and is chasing his second Masters title of the year. Novak Djokovic is still hanging around at No. 3 at 38 years old, proving he can still hang with the younger guys. He pushed Alcaraz to the limit in Melbourne before falling short.

Behind the top three, you've got Alexander Zverev at No. 4, Lorenzo Musetti at No. 5, and Alex de Minaur at No. 6. Taylor Fritz is still the top American at No. 7, followed by Felix Auger-Aliassime at No. 8. Ben Shelton has cracked the top 10 at No. 9 — his left-handed serve is a weapon. Daniil Medvedev rounds out the top 10 at No. 10.

Djokovic's records

Djokovic is still stacking records even at 38. He has 101 career singles titles, including 24 Grand Slams — the most in men's tennis history. At the Australian Open this year, he became the first player to reach 400 career Grand Slam match wins. He also extended his record for most Grand Slam finals to 38. The guy has been doing this since 2003, and he's still a threat at every major. He's playing a lighter schedule these days, but when the Slams roll around, he's still the guy no one wants to see in their half of the draw.

Viewership

Men's tennis pulls huge numbers globally. The four Grand Slams alone generate over a billion cumulative viewers each year. The Australian Open final between Alcaraz and Djokovic was watched by millions worldwide. The Masters 1000 events also draw strong ratings, especially in Europe and North America. The sport is in a good spot with the Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry taking over from the Big Three era.

TV options in the US

Tennis Channel is the main home for the ATP Tour in the United States. They cover most Masters 1000 and ATP 500 events live. ESPN carries the Grand Slams — the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. For the Sunshine Double (Indian Wells and Miami), Tennis Channel has the bulk of the coverage. If you have cable, you're mostly covered. If you're cutting the cord, you'll need a combination of Tennis Channel Plus, ESPN+, and maybe a live TV service.

Streaming options

Tennis TV is the official streaming service of the ATP Tour. It covers every ATP tournament outside the Grand Slams — that's over 2,500 matches a year. You can watch live or on demand, with full match replays going back to 1990. A subscription runs about $15 a month. The catch is that Grand Slams aren't included — those are separate broadcast deals. Tennis TV works in most countries, though some local blackouts apply for certain events.

International viewing

Coverage varies by region. In Europe, Sky and Eurosport split the rights depending on the country. In the UK, Sky Sports has the ATP Tour. In India, FanCode picked up the rights in 2026 for the subcontinent. In Japan, U-NEXT is the main platform. In Southeast Asia, SPOTV carries most events. In the Middle East and Africa, beIN Sports has the rights. For fans outside their home region, Tennis TV is usually the most reliable option.

Grand Slams

The four majors are the biggest events on the calendar. The Australian Open runs in January (this year it was 18 January to 1 February). The French Open is scheduled for 24 May to 7 June at Roland Garros. Wimbledon follows from 29 June to 12 July on the grass. The US Open wraps up the Slam season from 31 August to 13 September. Alcaraz won the Australian Open this year, his first title in Melbourne and the one that completed his career Grand Slam at 22.

Current season

The 2026 ATP Tour kicked off in January with the United Cup in Australia. The hard court season is wrapping up, with the clay court swing starting in April. The Monte-Carlo Masters runs 5-12 April, followed by Madrid (22 April to 3 May) and Rome (6-17 May). Then it's on to Roland Garros. The season will run through November, ending with the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. Alcaraz is sitting at No. 1 after his Australian Open win, with Sinner close behind after taking Indian Wells. Djokovic is still in the mix at No. 3 despite playing a lighter schedule.
