About Albanian Superliga

The Albanian Superliga, known as the Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional soccer league in Albania. The 2025-26 season runs from August 2025 through May 2026, with 10 teams competing for the title. Egnatia are the defending champions after winning the 2024-25 title. The season is in the final stretch, with the title race and relegation battle coming down to the wire.

Top teams

Egnatia are the defending champions. Vllaznia are currently leading the table this season, sitting at the top with strong form. AF Elbasani are close behind, sitting just one point off the top. Dinamo City, Partizani Tirana, and Tirana are the traditional powerhouses from the capital. Flamurtari, Teuta, Bylis, and Vora round out the competitive league. The title race is tight, with several clubs still in contention.

Format

The league has 10 teams. Each plays each other four times for a total of 36 matches per team. The champion qualifies for the Champions League qualifiers. The second and third-place teams go into the Conference League qualifiers. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Kategoria e Parë. The format is a quadruple round-robin, which makes the schedule long and the competition intense.

Viewership

The Superliga pulls strong numbers across Albania and Kosovo. The Tirana derby between Partizani, Dinamo City, and Tirana draws the biggest audiences. The league has a passionate following among Albanian soccer fans, and international interest comes from the Albanian diaspora in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the US, and the UK.

TV options in Albania and Kosovo

In Albania and Kosovo, RTSH (Radio Televizioni Shqiptar) is the exclusive broadcaster for the Superliga. The rights deal runs through the 2026-27 season. RTSH broadcasts at least two live matches per week on RTSH Sport and RTSH 2 on linear television.

Streaming options in Albania

Live streaming of the Superliga is available through the RTSH Tani app, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices. Some matches are also streamed live on the official RTSH YouTube channel. Match highlights, exclusive interviews, and other Superliga clips are available throughout the season on YouTube. The RTSH Tani app is the primary streaming option, though reliability can vary.

International streaming options

For fans outside Albania and Kosovo, there is no dedicated international streaming service for the Superliga. The RTSH Tani app is geo-blocked to Albania. International viewers can access Superliga games through a VPN connected to an Albanian server. Some matches may also be available through local sports broadcasters in other countries. For the most reliable access, a VPN and the RTSH Tani app is the best option.

Albanian Cup 2026

The Albanian Cup runs alongside the league season. The Round of 16 matches took place on January 10, 2026. The quarterfinals and semifinals follow in the spring. The cup final is scheduled for later in the season. The winner qualifies for the Conference League qualifiers. RTSH broadcasts select cup matches as well.
